‘SANA, UMURONG NA LANG SI CHRISTIAN’

TWO big concerts will be fighting for viewers’ attention this Saturday, October 6: Billy Crawford’s “It’s Time” at the Araneta Coliseum and Christian Bautista’s “Inspired” at the Astrodome. This will also be an extension of the battle of the networks as Billy is a Kapuso and Christian is a Kapamilya.

We asked some writers which show they’d prefer to watch and most of them say it’s Billy’s.

“Kilala si Christian sa Indonesia, pero si Billy mas kilala sa Europe,” says one writer.

“After he made a booboo in singing our National Anthem, ayoko nang manood ng show ni Christian,” says another writer. “Isa pa, taga-QC ako kaya too far ang Astrodome in Pasay for me.”

“Si Christian, magso-show pa uli rito as he’s based here,” one writer opines. “Si Billy, baka hindi na maulit as he’s really based abroad.”

“Billy’s edge is that he sings and dances,” still another writer says. “Si Christian, he just sings. Sana umurong na lang siya sa next weekend.”

“Hindi puwede,” quips one writer. “Si Babyface ang makakabangga niya roon.”

Personally, we think Billy’s show is more well promoted, what with him, even having that reality search show for his back-up dancers in GMA-7, “Move,” that rated so well. All the winning dancers are now in his concert and this will be exciting to watch. Also, he’s got full backing from GMA-7 that even hosted its own special presscon just for him.

That controversial issue involving KC Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta also made a lot of people talk about him. But the Big Dome, of course, is much more difficult to fill up than Astrodome. Will Billy be able to pack them in? Let’s wait and see.
