GMA Network it recently bagged multiple awards in the recently held 2006 Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards for Television, including the prestigious Best Station Award which the Kapuso Network has won for the second consecutive year now.GMA-7’s primetime newscast 24 Oras is one of the winners in the Best News Program category while Vicky Morales won as Best Female Newscaster for Saksi. Winning the Best Public Service Program Award is Wish Ko Lang! while Mike Enriquez was named Best Public Service Program Host for Imbestigador. Debate won as Best Public Affairs Program and its hosts Winnie Monsod and Oscar Orbos received the Best Public Affairs Program Host Award. Pinoy Abroad won as Best Travel Show and its hosts Ivan Mayrina and Rhea Santos received the Best Travel Show Host Award.The GMA entertainment shows and talents who won awards were Love to Love for Best Youth Oriented Program, Startalk as one of the winners of Best Showbiz-Oriented Talk Show, Marian Rivera (Agawin Mo Man Ang Lahat Sa Akin) for Best New Female TV Personality, Christine Jacob (Mobile Kusina) for Best Educational Program Host, Bubble Gang for Best Gag Show, Bahay Mo Ba ’To? for Best Comedy Show, Rufa Mae Quinto (Hokus Pokus) for Best Comedy Actress, Ogie Alcasid (Bubble Gang) for Best Comedy Actor, Ang Mahiwagang Baul is one of the winners for Best Horror/Fantasy Program, Now and Forever for Best Daytime Drama Series, StarStruck 3 for Best Talent Search Program, Regine Velasquez for Best Talent Search Program Host, and Eat Bulaga for Best Variety Show.GMA-7 also received the Best Reality Competition Program Award for Extra Challenge and the Best Reality Competition Program Host Award for Paolo Bediones and Ethel Booba.
