Sunshine, bida sa ‘Bakekang’ movie
Mega couple, director Carlo J. Caparas and producer Donna Villa’s Bakekang, aired over GMA-7, remains to be No. 1 among all other teleseryes based on the latest surveys nationwide.
Because of this, they plan to soon do a remake of Bakekang on the silver screen with Sunshine Dizon in the title role anew.
The TV series has practically created the so- called “Bakekang syndrome,” which champions women’s rights and causes.
It has also redefined the nature of women’s beauty and fighting spirit.
“Natutuwa ang mga pangit ngayon at ’di na nahihiya,” claimed a fan.
Based on latest surveys, Bakekang scores a high 33.4 percent in viewership share, besting the Robin Padilla-Angel Locsion starrer Asian Treasures (31.4 percent) and Jumong (30.4 percent), both GMA-7 shows as well. Ranking 4th is Atlantika (GMA-7) and ABS-CBN’s Maging Sino Ka Man (27.1 and 25.3 percent, respectively).
“May Bakekang sa bawat babae, pangit man o maganda, dahil sa kagustuhang makaangat sa buhay, ma-recognize at manalo bilang isang respetadong nilikha,” said Direk Carlo.
Bakekang symbolizes the struggle of every abused Filipina, who wants to fight for her rights.
Tonight gathered that Donna and Direk Carlo, creator of comics classics such as Bakekang and Panday, plan to produce Bakekang the movie very soon.
Direk Carlo remarked: “Sunshine fits the role to a ‘T’.”
