Marian’s true love revealed

Marian’s true love revealed

MARIAN Rivera is being linked to screen partners Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez but the grapevine says her real love is a model-cager named Ervic Vijandre who’s been her squeeze since she was a teenager when she was starting to model for TV commercials.

Marian chooses to keep mum when asked about her rumored boyfriend.

“Huwag na lang po natin siyang pag-usapan,” she insists. “Kung puwede po, I want to keep my private life sa akin na lang.”

The plot thickens, though, as one good friend of Marian tells us that she’s no longer going steady with Ervic (who’s really better off as a model as he’s tall and hunky, but he’s not movie star handsome.) “Magkaibigan na lang sila,” says our source. “Marian knows her priorities at mas gusto niya talagang i-focus all her attention now on her showbiz career. She knows she’d just get distracted kung magbo-boyfriend siya.”

How come it’s said she spent Christmas and New Year with Ervic visiting her mom and grandma in their home in Cavite?

“It’s Ervic who insisted na samahan siya,” says our source. “Hindi naman daw niya basta mapipigilan ‘yung tao kung gusto siyang dalawin o samahan.”

Will this revelation about Marian’s secret lovelife affect the ratings of “Marimar” or the box office chances of her movie with Richard, “A Very Special Love”? Seriously, we don’t think so.

At this point, Marian is riding on the crest of a big wave that insures her being popular and on top for the next several seasons. And if she’d know how to play her cards right, then she just might last longer in showbiz than her contemporaries, especially those who are perceived as “walang utang na loob”.

BAD, BAD MOVE

ARA Mina and her sister, Cristine Reyes, seem bent on moving from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. Ara also wants to have her cake and eat it, too. That’s why she wants to stay in GMA-7’s “Bubble Gang” even if she’s now doing “Prinsesa ng Banyera” on ABS. Honestly, we don’t think accepting “Prinsesa” is a good career move.

Do you honestly think Ara can help up the ratings of this afternoon show? We doubt it. And if ABS bosses would see that she can’t help attract more viewers, we doubt if they’d assign her a lead role in a primetime show.

As for Cristine, she has been dropped from the cast of Robin Padilla’s “Joaquin Bordado”, to be replaced by Iwa Moto. Obviously, GMA bosses are not exactly jubilant about her being linked to Willie Revillame and with her guesting in his “Wowowee”. Now, it’s said Cristine is being tapped to play the title role of the remake of “Eva Fonda, 16”, which originally starred Alma Moreno in 1976.

Someone asked a GMA insider if they’re affected by the decision of Ara and Cristine to move to ABS. “Buh-kitt? (Why?)” says the GMA insider. “Kung si Angel Locsin nga na bigger star than both of them, hindi kami naapektuhan. Kung gusto nilang umalis, di umalis sila. Go and good riddance! Sa panahon ngayon, no star is indispensable kasi madaling gumawa ng bagong stars, as proven by Marian Rivera. And these days, hindi ang stars ang importante kundi ang project. You can have the biggest stars, pero kung palpak ang projects mo, wala rin.”

To that, we can only say amen.
