FINALLY, nakapagdesisyon si Roderick Paulate na mag-ober-da-bakod sa GMA 7 from ABS-CBN. Napakalaki at magastos ang serye ng Siyete na uumpisahan ni Roderick, na sinamahan ng big stars. Sabi ni Dick, wala siyang masasabing masama sa pinanggalingang network. Inalagaan at binigyan din siya ng importansiya ng mga big boss ng Kapamilya Network. Ipinakikiusap niyang huwag nang bigyan ng ibang kulay ang kanyang paglabas sa Kapuso Network. Masaya siya sa project na ipinagkatiwala sa kanya ng GMA at sana raw ay mabigyan niya ng justice ang role na gagampanan sa Makita Ka Sana Muli. Paiiyakin at patatawanin uli ni Dick ang televiewers sa bago niyang soap. Subok na ang kanyang galing pagdating sa comedy at drama.

NAGULAT at hindi makapaniwala ang StarStruck 3 Avengers na sina Vivo Ouano, Bugs Daigo, Ken Punzalan, Johan Santos at Chuck Allie nang sigawan at ipagtabuyan sila ng isang lady guard ng GMA 7 sa audition ng StarStruck: The Next Level last Friday. Ikinuwento ng isang source na marami ang nakarinig nang galit na maglitanya ang babaing sikyu: “Ano’ng ginagawa ninyo riyan, umalis na kayo! Mag-u-audition ba kayo? May number na ba kayo? Kung wala pa, du’n kayo sa labas kumuha at du’n pumila .. Labas!“ Nagmistulang pobre ang mga Avenger na hiyang-hiya sa sinapit sa kamay ng lady guard na mataray. Mabuti na lang at may StarStruck staffer na nandoon at sinabihan ang sikyu na Avengers ang mga ’yun. Ang siste: Instead of saying “Sorry,” ang guard ay nagtaray pa’t nagbitaw ng maaanghang na salitang “Naku, paano ko ba naman sila makikilala, e, wala kasi silang show, ’no?” Paging the GMA 7 management. SOP Rules... Suggestions?

I like the new stage on SOP... I mean finally it looks a lot bigger and more sophisticated. However, There's still something missing... I mean sana there's two stairs coming from both sides of the stage and have a big TV screen actually between the stairs.... I mean don't ABC-5's Philippine Idol has the clear cut big screen TV... I can't believe GMA still can't afford to have one of those?... Or even a bigger studio for SOP, instead of bigger studios for telefatanyas?... I mean, I love all GMA's soaps and they always guarantee high ratings...
One thing I like was like the marquee in the back with the word "SOP" flashing in different colors... Very Cool... One more thing, why put a runway in the middle of the stage and not have an audience around it... I notice that this was the way the runway was before, which was about a year ago... It was then ASAP suddenly copied the runway making theirs a little narrower and having an arrow in the end... But my suggestions was, why not put the audience sit around these runway... Like sa SIS diba or just like before?

SOP World's Stars...

Last week's performance of SOP World's Stars was awesome. Aicelle Santos' version of Whitney Houston's "Miss You Like Crazy" was just great. Also the new two new grand contenders are even more amazing. GMA Kapuso might as well keep them as regular singers for SOP for this segment because they are simply awesome. Brenan was the only guy this week and his performance of "Half-Crazy" was also superb. Jonalyn is always great and their finale of Mariah Carey's "My All" was the best. I hope SOP would put more Pinoy Pop Superstar Contenders such as Harry Santos to join the World Stars. Also hopefully, they'll keep the two new female contenders as part of "SOP's World Stars" segment.

As for SOP, it was reported that they would make some changes as the week goes on. Hopefully SOP will get a bigger studio. Or at least just make one big stage for SOP and SOP Gigsters just like ASAP having only one big stage. The studio always look crowded. Also SOP deserves to have much bigger screen than what they have right now. I mean compare ASAP, they two big screen TV's just for that show. Why can't SOP have a bigger screen as well?.... That's why hopefully the people behind SOP could see this and consider our constructive criticms. If they want to keep succeeding in the rating game, then they should listen to their fans.

KAMI mismo ay nagtaka kung bakit wala sa special advance screening ng TXT ang mga bidang sina Angel Locsin at Dennis Trillo no-ong Martes ng gabi sa Podium Cinema. Bukod tanging sina si Oyo Sotto ang duma-ting kasama ang ama nitong si Vic at ang nobyang si Pia Guanio. Ang dinig namin ay pa-rehong may taping sked ang dalawa. Pero, parang napa-kadali naman yatang makahingi ng permiso para lu-miban sa taping dahil mga bida naman sila ng TXT na nabigyan pa nga ng ‘A’ grade ng Cinema Evaluation Board. At dahil mabusisi kami sa pagtatanong, may napulot kaming medyo nakaiintrigang item tungkol sa maaaring dahilan kung bakit wala ang stars na nabanggit. Ayon sa aming ayaw magpakilalang source, ‘tampo’ pa rin ang dahilan kung bakit nagawa ni Dennis na hindi siputin ang premiere ng kanyang pelikula. Up to this time kasi ay wala man lang malinaw na paliwanag na naririnig ang aktor diumano sa ginawang pagpalit sa kanya ni Richard Gutierrez para sa filmfest entry ng Regal Entertainment na Mano Po 5, Gua Ai Di.Totoong may taping nga si Dennis, pero napakadali naman daw itong ipagpaalam kung ginusto lang ng aktor. What about Angel na halos 99% ay present sa film na TXT? Nakisimpa-tiya kaya siya sa matalik na kaibigan? Napakaraming mga spekulasyon tuloy ang lumabas, lalo pa’t in fairness ay tunay na nakagugu-lat at nakatatakot ang pe-likula. Hindi naman siguro ito bibigyan ng ‘A’ rating kung pipitsugin lang, 'di ba?

Ang tsika kasi, diretsong ipinangako ni Mother kina Dennis ang proyekto only to find out later na iba na ang gagawa nito. Ang tsika pa nga, ang mismong manager ni Dennis na si Popoy Caritativo pa raw ang nag-suggest na isama sa casting si Christian Bautista dahil sa revision ng script ay ginawa nilang singer ang supposedly ‘katrianggulo’ nina Dennis at Angel Locsin. Sinubukan naming kunan ng pahayag si Popoy, pero hindi ito sumagot sa aming mga tawag at text, marahil para umiwas na lang sa intriga.Aware naman sa sitwasyon na kayang-kayang gawin (at may K naman talagang gawin) ni Mother ang nasabing pagbigay ng go signal o pagpapahinto ng proyekto, pero bilang mga tao, normal lang lang naman siguro silang maghinampo lalo pa’t ni ‘hay o hoy’ ay wala na silang narinig after masabihan silang naibigay na nga sa iba ang nasabing Mano Po 5..

Bakekang Rating Very Well!

IBINALITA rin ni Donna Villa na number one teleserye ngayon ng GMA-7 ang Bakekang na likha ng kanyang asawa. “Grabe si Sunshine Dizon. Kayang-kaya niya palang magdala ng show. Consistent sa pagiging number one. Ang balita sa amin ay tinalo na nito ang Captain Barbell, Majika at lalo na yung Atlantika na ginastusan pa raw. “Tubong-lugaw sila sa Bakekang dahil matipid sa budget. Ganda lang talaga ng istorya ang sinusundan ng mga tao,” ang tuluy-tuloy pa nitong kuwento sa amin. Nang amin siyang intrigahin na parang ganun din ang kanyang sinabi noon sa Panday ng ABS-CBN, ay matatag nitong tinugon ng pagsasabing, “talaga namang top rater ng ABS-CBN ang Panday. Hindi sila nalugi dun dahil bago pa man yun ipalabas ay may mga built-in sponsors na ang show. “Nagkataon lang na nga-yon, pila-pila ang mga sponsors ng Bakekang dahil hindi na sila kayang i-accommodate lahat.” Well, hearing it from someone na magaling sa negosyo at sanay na sanay na sa kalakaran ng industriya, mahirap nang kumontra. Ha-ha-ha!

Another GMAAC star wins in a world Competition!It seems that GMA Artist Center is on a lucky streak this quarter of the year as far as international recognitions are concerned. Just recently, Jonalyn Viray and Brenan Espartinez, two of the Center’s

talented singers, wowed audiences and the judges with their singing prowess at the recently concluded World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) or Talent Olympics last August. They made our country proud as they brought home Gold Medals and Plaques of Recognitions.Then only after a month, here comes Aicelle Santos, another talented performer from GMAAC’s pool of artist who emerged victorious at the 2006 Astana Music Festival held in Astana, Kazakhstan. She won Best Performance of Own Country Song plus a US$3,000 cash prize!“Actually, parang break-even lang ang nangyari because I had to bring my mother with me and I paid for her fare. Siyempre, I need someone to look after my things, help me with my dress and makeup and everything. Vehnee also helped to get me sponsorships for our expenses,” she explained.This annual international music festival had 14 contestant had to interpret a Kazakhstan song and render an original song from their country of residence. Aicelle’s Kazakhstan song was “Aking Ama” with lyrics by Vehnee Saturno and her winning piece was “Ba’t Di Subukan (If We Just Hold On),” with music by Vehnee and Doris Saturno.“I really don’t know the reason I was picked but I’m very greatful that Vehnee Saturno and Ms.Ida Henares of GMA Artist Center chose me to be our country’s representative to the competition. I feel very lucky and happy of course,” related Aicelle.For competition purposes, “Ba’t Di Mo Subukan,” which was originally sang by Jonalyn Viray, was given a new arrangement. Aicelle described her version to be a “fight song”.“Kailangang maraming birit na parts so we’ll have a good chance,” she quipped. I want to have an album someday and to be known as a successful recording artist who has a hit song played on the radio. I also want to do concerts,” she said.After, the 2006 Astana Music Festival, Aicelle hopes to conquer more international singing competitions if given the chance. If ever he wouldn’t mind representing the country too in next year’s WCOPA.
